We’re recruiting for a permanent full-time Cellar Supervisor to join #Team Yealands. 

This position exists to support the cellar operations and is the interface between winemaking, laboratory, and the cellar team to ensure a smooth flow of work. The location of this role is at Yealands Seddon based Winery in Marlborough, New Zealand. The minimum guaranteed hours of work for this role are 40-45 per week. 

Along with this, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Managing the day to day running of winery operational tasks including assigning daily/weekly tasks to cellar team
  • Contributing and providing information and/or data for weekly planning meetings
  • Leading the induction and advanced training methods to achieve high standards of work of all new Cellar Hands
  • Reviewing SOP’s and ensuring they are up to date with best practice standards.
  • Initiating and implementing winery operational efficiencies
  • Overseeing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives
  • Assigning daily/weekly work to cellar and vintage teams

Are you the right person for us? 

  • No formal qualification required,
  • Minimum of four years’ winery experience, 
  • Competent in all cellar operations,
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize jobs,
  • Comfortable with thinking ahead and address issues before they arise,
  • Ability to influence across all teams and generate a one team approach,
  • Demonstrates positive attributes, a willingness to learn and entry level leadership competencies,
  • Committed to achieving high standards of performance and quality for self and others.
